Abstract : The mite Eriophyes mangiferae [Aceria mangiferae] is recorded from the Canary Islands, Spain, for the first time. It is a pest of mangoes. Brief notes are given on morphology and biology. Studies in Gran Canaria showed that the mite could be controlled by a combination of pruning infested twigs of mango trees and 2 dicofol sprays at 7-day-intervals.
