Abstract : In a study to inventory all insect fauna in the northern Côte d'Ivoire that develop in fruits, to identify their natural enemies and to determine population sizes for each species on different plants (mango, Citrus, guava, papaya [pawpaw] and cashew), 27 insect species were collected. They were mainly Diptera, Lepidoptera and Hymenoptera (presumed to be parasitoids or hyperparasitoids). Of the Diptera, 11 species were Tephritidae. Dacus sp. was the most frequently observed species on pawpaw cv. Solo. An unidentified Hermetia sp. also occurred on this fruit in large numbers. Ceratitis cosyra and C. anonae are described as the main pests of guava.
