Abstract : Several scale insects occur sporadically on mangoes in South Africa. Those found in orchards in 1993 (the coccids Coccus hesperidum, Protopulvinaria mangiferae, Ceroplastes rubens, and the diaspidids Hemiberlesia lataniae, Aonidiella aurantii, A. orientalis, and Chrysomphalus aonidum) are described.
