Abstract : Sternochetus mangiferae is reported for the first time on mangoes in Himachal Pradesh, India. Its spread may be due to increased cultivation of southern Indian mangoes in the north of the country. Brief notes are given on the occurrence of Sternochetus spp. on mangoes in India and on control (spray application of 0.05% fenthion at fortnightly intervals and burning of mango debris).
