Juvenomimetic activity in some plants.

Abstract : In further investigations in the laboratory in India on the juvenile hormone activity of extracts of plants on nymphs of Dysdercus cingulatus (F.) [cf. RAE/A 63, 2289], the activities of Erythrina indica, Araucaria heterophylla (excelsa), Annona reticulata, Peltophorum inerme, Tamarindus indica, cassava (Manihot esculenta), Phyllanthus emblica, Eupatorium sp., mango (Mangifera indica), Tabernaemontana dichotoma, Macaranga peltata and guava (Psidium gauyava) were found to be 48, 77, 65, 46, 11, 56, 80, 23, 47, 97, 10 and 5 FME (farnesyl methyl ether) equivalents [cf. loc. cit.], respectively.
