Abstract : In experiments at Bhubaneswar and Khandagiri in 1992-93, Banganpalli mangoes were approach grafted on mango seedling rootstocks and grafts were detached from the mother plants after 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 55 or 60 days for growing on in pots under nursery conditions. Survival after 60 days in pots increased as the detachment of grafts from the mother plant was delayed. It was highest (76.66%) for grafts detached after 50 or 55 days. Only 18.33% of those detached after 20 days survived for 60 days in pots.
