Abstract : Mango cv. Langra fruits were harvested and stored in various materials. Packing in wooden boxes containing 2 g carbide resulted in quick ripening (1.5 days) but did not prolong storage life compared with the other materials used. Paddy straw, paper wraps, dry sand, sawdust, paper layers and green mango leaves resulted in good ripening and storage life as well as good dessert fruit quality. In general, dry sand and sawdust were identified as the best media for extended storage life (12-13 days).
