Abstract : Techniques for inducing early or late flowering in mangoes (and hence obtaining better fruit prices) are considered. In Mexico, 1-3 foliar applications of 4% potassium nitrate during October and November allows harvesting to occur 18-65 days earlier than normal, depending on the cultivar. Results of trials in which flowering and harvesting were delayed by various methods (including potassium nitrate application, pruning, N application and GA3 application) are also given.
