Abstract : In an experiment conducted at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, softwood grafting was carried out during June-October using 1- and 2-month-old local mango seedlings as rootstocks and cv. Bangana Palli for the scions. The highest rate of grafting success (87%), tallest grafted plants (17.1 cm) and highest number of leaves (7.0) recorded after 60 days were obtained when grafting was done on 1-month-old rootstocks in August.
