Sugars and acidity: their distribution in mango (Mangifera indica L.) fruit.

Abstract : Distribution of Brix and acidity was determined in the basal, middle (divided into thirds) and apical parts of the fruits of 10 mango cultivars. The sweetest and least acid parts were the basal section and the outer third of the middle section. The apical section and the inner third of the middle section, nearest the stone, showed the highest acidity and least sweetness.
