Flowering and fruiting in mango (Mangifera indica L.) cultivar Haden.

Abstract : Panicle formation and fruit development were observed in June, July and August 1973 in mango cv. Haden grafted onto cv. Coquinho, planted in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil in 1969. Three flowering periods were observed; panicle, flower and fruit formation were highest in June than in July or August. No correlation was found between the number of perfect flowers and the number of fruits produced, but the highest numbers of fruits were found in the upper central region of the panicle and on the N-facing side of the tree.
