Pathology and epidemiology of Macrophoma blight of mango.

Abstract : In 1991 grafted mango cv. Dashehari plants were spray inoculated with M. mangiferae in Mar., May, Jul., Sep. and Nov. in the Indian Punjab. Blight symptoms were not recorded on plants inoculated in Mar. or Nov. but symptoms occurred 21 d after inoculation with indexes of 18.1, 30.2 and 6.4% for May, Jul. and Sep., respectively. Temperature and rainfall conditions were particularly favourable during Jul. and Aug.
