Abstract : The ability of 7 fungicides, Blitox-50 [copper oxychloride], Dithane M-45 [mancozeb], Captaf [captan], Bavistin [carbendazim], Topsin-M [thiophanate-methyl], captafol and Bordeaux mixture, to control grey blight (Pestalotiopsis mangiferae) of mangoes was determined. Fungicides were evaluated in vitro and in vivo. In vitro tests revealed that captafol provided 100% inhibition of mycelial growth at 1500 and 2000 µg/ml. In vivo pre-inoculation treatments were more effective than post-inoculation treatments. Captafol was again the most effective fungicide.
