Incompatibility in fruit plants - a review.

Abstract : Incompatibility systems are discussed in relation to (1) heteromorphic and homomorphic flowers, (2) the gametophyte and sporophyte and (3) inhibition of pollen germination on the stigma, and in the style, ovary and ovule. Incompatibility in Citrus, mango, grape, guava, loquat, apple, pear, peach, plum, almond, cherry, raspberry, pineapple and quince is reviewed.
