Abstract : Ten 'Kent' mango trees were chosen randomly from an orchard in the Letsitele Valley, and inflorescence and fruit samples were taken every 2 weeks and checked for N. mangiferae infection. Systemic infection played a large role in the incidence of blossom blight, but not in the incidence of soft brown rot. The main factor influencing soft brown rot incidence was secondary infections caused by rain washing spores onto the surface of the fruit from other sources of inoculum.
