Abstract : A study was conducted to evaluate the resistance of 15 mango varieties to 2 C. fimbriata isolates (IAC FITO 4905, highly pathogenic and IAC FITO 334-1, not pathogenic to the variety Jasmim). Field inoculations were made at c. 40 cm from the branch top, using 8-year-old trees and a complete block design with subdivided plots. The varieties São Quirino, Irwin, Edwards and Van Dyke were resistant, IAC 100 Bourbon moderately resistant and Glenn, Joe Welch, Zill and Haden susceptible to the 2 isolates. The variety Kent behaved like Jasmim, being resistant to the isolate IAC FITO 334-1 and susceptible to IAC FITO 4905, and it may be used like Jasmim for discrimination of these isolates.
