Abstract : Twenty-two varieties, grown in the Silor and Bageshwar valley areas, are described and classified into early, midseason and late maturity groups. Analysis of the fruits showed that those of the early varieties Bombay Yellow and Bombay Green are of good quality. Bharbhuzan (midseason) and Khajia (early) have sweet, juicy fruits. A table is given showing the chemical composition of the fruits of all the varieties.
