Abstract : The aftermath of Hurricane Andrew changed the tropical fruit system in south Florida. Possibly due to changes in horticultural practices, cultivars, and acreage, new pest problems have arisen since late 1992. At the same time, problems have increased with established minor pests. An overview of insects and mites attacking lime (Phyllocnistis citrella), avocado (Tegolophus perseaflorae), mango (Pococera spp., Tallula sp., Radionaspis indica, Morganella lonigspina), sapodilla (Rhodoneura myrsusalis) [Banisia myrsusalis], and banana (Metamasius hemipterus, Opogona sacchari) is presented.
