Abstract : Field experiments were carried out in Pakistan for 20 days to determine the effect of colour on the trap efficiency in attracting male Bactrocera zonata. Coloured plastic traps baited with methyl eugenol and sticky traps were placed in a guava and mango orchard. The number of flies captured per trap was significantly higher in yellow than in green and white colour traps. Lowest numbers of flies captured were in blue and black traps. Yellow sticky traps also attracted higher numbers of flies than green and blue traps. White and black sticky traps did not attract flies.
