Abstract : Mangoes resistant to C. fimbriata were selected following inoculation with isolates FITO334-1 and FITO4905, the predominant races occurring in the State of São Paulo, by soil watering with pure cultures in liquid potato-dextrose medium. The cultivars Carabao, Manga d'Agua and Pico had the highest resistance levels. Plant resistance within polyembryonic cultivars varied due to mutations, allowing the selection of resistant plants belonging to susceptible cultivars.
