Abstract : Calcium chloride (2, 4, 6 and 8%) was used to treat stored mangoes (cv. Dashehari). Treated fruits were packed in wooden boxes and stored at room temperature (30±2°C and 60-65% R.H.). Calcium chloride (6%) was be the most effective in reducing weight losses and improving colour and quality. Fruits treated with this concentration were marketable after 12 days of storage, as compared to 7 days in control fruits.
