Abstract : Fruit production in Chiapas, Mexico, is characterized by a great diversity and important socioeconomic potential. First results of studies and research with different tropical fruit crops show that this zone has the potential to develop sustainable fruit production with good opportunities. Examples of mango, pawpaw and rambutan cultivation are cited.
