Abstract : Dipping harvested fruits in the growth regulators 2,4-D, GA3 or NAA, each together with prochloraz increased the efficiency of the fungicide against anthracnose [Glomerella cingulata] and stem end rot [Botryodiplodia theobromae], decreasing losses from postharvest decay, prolonging storage life and improving the acceptability of the fruits. Treatment with Ethrel [ethephon] + prochloraz accelerated ripening of fruits so that they were edible within 3-5 days after harvest, giving 100% commercial acceptability and absence of postharvest diseases.
