Selection and classification of mango rootstocks in the nursery stage.

Abstract : Some 31 mango rootstocks were arranged in 4 groups ranging from dwarf to vigorous on the basis of several selection criteria which were themselves evaluated. Stem growth, root bark percentage and the number of vessels per unit root area were correlated with vigour, but stem and petiole anatomy and the respiration of leaf discs were not useful for selection.
