Abstract : Wedge grafting seedlings aged 1 or 2 years using scion wood defoliated 1-2 weeks previously resulted in 98.5% success in a nursery field and 76% success in cultivators' fields without irrigation. Grafting was carried out from the last week of July to the first week of September, and it was noted that excellent results were possible only when the terminal growth of the chosen rootstock was young and bronze in colour.
