Abstract : Fruits of several cvs and selections of grapefruit, lime, oranges, guavas and mangoes were either inoculated with A. suspensa eggs or exposed in cages containing a large population of the flies, and their relative susceptibility at different times of the year was determined. With all fruits infestation between cvs varied widely. Of several grapefruit cvs tested fruit infestation was negligible or absent in Dunca, Isle of Pines and Pink Seedless, as also in the mango seedlings WA 31926, WA 41347 and WA 31304. In other fruits and mango selections infestation was usually moderate or severe, with up to 163 larvae/kg/fruit.
