Growth patterns of mango transplants cv. Hindi Bisinara under foliar spray with some growth regulators.

Abstract : Two-year-old Hindi Bisinara mango transplants, growing in a nursery in Egypt, were sprayed 3 times a year (in mid-May, mid-June and mid-July) with one of the following solutions: (a) control (tap water); (b) 50 or 100 ppm TIBA; (c) 50 or 100 ppm 6-benzylaminopurine [benzyladenine]; (d) 250 or 500 ppm 6-furfuryl aminopurine [kinetin]; or (e) 100 or 200 ppm PP333 (paclobutrazol). TIBA and 6-furfuryl aminopurine (particularly at high concentrations) were the most effective treatments at enhancing shoot branching, increasing branching angle and improving leaf mineral content as well as other parameters of Hindi Bisinara mango transplants.
