Abstract : The effects of foliar-application of KS215, KS761 or PST101 [compositions unspecified] to mango cv. Sensation trees at the time of normal harvest on fruit ripening were investigated in South Africa. The number of fruits on each tree was counted at spraying, and 13 and 23 days later. Spontaneous ripening was markedly reduced by PST101. After 13 days, 10% of fruits had fallen from trees treated with PST101, whereas almost 30% of fruits had fallen from untreated trees. After 23 days, 24% of fruits had fallen from trees treated with PST101, whereas >50% of fruits had fallen from control.
