Abstract : Data are tabulated on flowering and fruiting in 1981, 1982 and 1983, of 210 trees of mango cultivars Extrema, Oliveira Neto, Carlota, Pahiri and Bourbon grafted on Espada, Extrema, Oliveira Neto, Carlota, Coco, Pahiri and Bourbon rootstocks. The trees were planted in an orchard in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and were 15 years old at the beginning of the trial. Oliveira and Carlota were the highest yielding scions and were also the rootstocks which had the greatest effect on yields. Pahiri as a scion and Bourbon as a rootstock had high mortality rates. Coco and Espada, traditionally used as rootstocks, induced lower yields. The trials showed that scions can be successfully grown on rootstocks of the same cultivar.
