Abstract : In the method described a mango seedling is raised in a coconut husk, reconstituted to make a container after the nut has been removed. Seedlings raised by this method are ready for air-layering after 2 or 3 months, compared with about a year when raised in earthenware pots. Moreover, grafted plants can be transplanted without root disturbance.
