Evaluation of fungicides against die-back disease of mango.

Abstract : The efficacy of 7 fungicides (aureofungin, benomyl, captan, carbendazim, copper oxychloride, mancozeb and thiophanate-methyl) against dieback disease of mango caused by Botryodiplodia theobromae was tested on inoculated seedlings of alphanso mango and in solid and liquid media. Carbendazim (0.1%) gave significantly greater control of B. theobromae on seedlings than the other fungicides tested. In the solid and liquid media tests complete suppression of fungal growth occurred with benomyl (0.1%). carbendazim (0.1%), captan (0.2%) and thiophanate-methyl (0.1%).
