Abstract : A pathogenicity test of an isolate of C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] collected from infected cashew leaves was conducted on fruits of acerola (Malpighia glabra), pawpaws (cv. Sunrise-Solo), mangoes (cv. Tommy Atkins) and passion fruits. The fungus was inoculated onto the wounded surface of the fruits with a PDA disk containing 5-day-old mycelium. The evaluation was made 3 days after inoculation. The tested isolate was only pathogenic to acerola and mangoes fruits, and to cashew leaves. In another test, isolates collected from cashews, avocados, mangaba (Hancornia speciosa) and passion fruits were pathogenic to cashew leaves of the clone UFAL 49.
