Abstract : Two tests were made in Venezuela to determine the best site for placement of McPhail traps on mango (Mangifera indica) trees to capture Anastrepha and Ceratitis fruit flies. Traps containing Torula Yeast Borax were placed on the tops of four trees, oriented in the first test towards the northeast, southeast northwest and southwest and in the second test towards the northeast and the southeast. The best orientation for placement of traps for the capture of species from both genera was the southeast.
