Abstract : Fallen mango fruits of cv. Banganapalli were studied at Bangalore, Karnataka, India, during 1996-97, by cutting and observing 100 randomly packed fruits once a week, from fruit set until harvest. The first sign of infestation by S. mangiferae was during the first week of April on marble-sized fruits. It is recommended that spray (fenthion 0.08% or carbaryl 0.4%) should be applied by the middle of March to cv. Banganapalli under Bangalore conditions.
