Abstract : Fruits of 20 mango (Mangifera indica) varieties from different regions of West Bengal, grown at Nadia, were analysed for juice composition. Variety Bimli contained the highest amount of total soluble solids (23.2° Brix) and total sugars (21.6%). Daudia, Gulabkhas and Chandan Kosa had the highest contents of titratable acids (0.58%), ascorbic acid and ?-carotene, respectively. It is concluded that Champa, Bimli, Chandan Kosa, Molaemjam and Gulabkhas are suitable as table fruit, Nawab Pasand, Jilapi, Tota and Bimli for long distance exports and Chandan Kosa, Daudia, Barasahi and Nawab Pasand for processing.
