Abstract : The US import market for tropical fruit juices, concentrations, and pulp and purée is significant. It is the leading importer of pineapple juice and concentrate, and of processed banana products. In general terms consumer sales in the USA of soft drinks are rising. Tropical fruit juices and fruit products are likely to benefit from this development. An overview of the US market for tropical juice imports is presented looking at imports, product and market characteristics, importers' requirements, consumer preferences, distribution channels, and prospects for specific products (pineapple juice and concentrate; banana purée and concentrate; passion fruit juice; mango purée and concentrate; guava and papaya; and other).
