Abstract : Mango production is an important commercial enterprises in the Kolar district of Karnataka, India. The economic viability of mango is explored: the crop requires considerable initial investment and is prone to risk due to dependence on rainfall. The conventional measures of investment evaluation, namely payback period, net present worth, benefit-cost ratio and internal rate of return, justified the investment made in mango orchards.
