Abstract : Essential oils, hydrodistilled from fruits of mango cultivars Langra, Bombay and Desi, grown in India, were analysed by GC and GC-MS. The essential oil of Langra was characterized by ?-3-carene (61.7%). The essential oil of Bombay contained ?-pinene (26.6%), caryophyllene oxide (14.5%) and humulene oxide (5.3%). The essential oil of Desi contained p-cymen-8-ol (28.6%) and ?-3-carene (5.7%).
