Induction of flowering and cropping in off phase Alphonso mango trees by pruning of fruited shoots.

Abstract : In an experiment near Dharwad, 10 pruning treatments were compared for inducing flowering of 40-year-old Alphonso mango trees. Trees were pruned mildy or severely in 1994, an off-year, on 5 dates in the autumn. Severe pruning was more effective than mild pruning and late pruning in December gave the best results.
