Abstract : Xiaolusong, introduced from Hainan province, is the main mango cultivar grown in this area of China. The fruits mature in mid-July and have an average fruit weight of 140-170 g. The skin is golden and the flesh is orange-yellow, juicy, sweet and aromatic, with few fibres, and a soluble solids content of 19%. The trees have good pest and disease resistance and are suitable for growing at ?1000 m a.s.l. Yuanjiang Xiangya is a large-fruited cultivar with an average fruit weight of 360-400 g. The fruits have a yellowish-red skin and golden yellow juicy flesh, with a sweet and aromatic flavour. The trees are not resistant to powdery mildew [Oidium mangiferae] or anthracnose [Glomerella cingulata].
