Abstract : In a trial in Piracicaba, SP, Brazil, 7 applications of calcium chloride (0.6 or 1.2%) were made before harvest of Tommy Atkins mangoes. Fruit pulp Ca concentrations and fruit ripening were evaluated at harvest and during 12 days of storage at 25°C and 60-70% RH. There was no increase of Ca content of the fruit pulp with Ca treatments, neither were weight loss, total soluble solids, total titratable acidity and pulp firmness affected by treatments.
