Abstract : Recent progress in a biological control programme for Aulacaspis tubercularis in South Africa is summarized. The life cycle of the predatory beetle Cybocephalus binotatus imported from Thailand is described, together with the rearing method used in this programme. Releases have been made in several mango-producing areas; the beetle has been recovered from many of these and some evidence of local dispersal has been obtained.
