Abstract : Traps baited with methyl eugenol lures were placed at 8-10 and 1.7 m above ground in mango (Mangifera indica) orchards in Queensland during August-September 1997. Traps at 8-10 m caught more flies of Bactrocera spp. than those placed at 1.7 m. Of the 7 species collected, B. laticaudus, B. pallida and B. visenda were collected only in the elevated traps, while B. musae was collected only in the lower traps.
