Abstract : The experiment was conducted with 12 genetically diverse strains/varieties of mango (Mangifera indica) in a randomized block design with three replications. The malformation showed significantly negative associations with fruit total soluble solids (TSS) for one year and with petiole length for both years. Path coefficient analysis revealed that the characters shoot length, petiole length, panicle diameter, fruit length, fruit volume, acidity content and seed stone diameter, with direct negative effects on malformation during both the years, should be given due consideration, while selecting for crop improvement.
