Abstract : Dazhoumang, a local mango [Mangifera indica] variety discovered as a chance seedling many years ago, is noted for its strong fruit aroma and good eating quality. Fruits mature in mid-late June and weigh about 120 g on average; fruit skin is thin, smooth and edible, with a light scarlet colour on the fruit shoulder. Flesh is yellow (a little bit darker than that of other varieties) and tender with a soluble solids content of 15-18%. Fruits have a pure sweet aroma with a strong longan aroma, and are of good quality. The trees are precocious, bearing at 3 years old, and productive.
