Response of paclobutrazol on vivipary in mango.

Abstract : Application of paclobutrazol (PBZ) @ 2.3 g per metre tree canopy diameter on 15 September and 15 October, induced vivipary in fruits of late maturing mango cv. Fazri whereas the other cultivars (Dashehari, Langra and Chausa) were unaffected. Percentage of vivipary, length of shoot, thickness of shoot, length of tap root, thickness of tap root and number of secondary roots were greater following treatment in September rather than October.
