Abstract : Susceptibility to the E. marginellus [E. marginatus] was studied in 10 mango cultivars in Kalyani, West Bengal, India, during 1995 and 1996. The incidence of the weevil was estimated from the number of leaves damaged, at monthly intervals. All the cultivars studied were susceptible to attack by the weevil, the most susceptible cultivar being Amrapali which had 53.9 and 57.4% leaf infestation in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Sorikhus was the least susceptible cultivar, with 33.17 and 39.8% leaf infestation in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Damage was moderate in June and then increased exponentially until August. Damage was low in October.
