Efficacy of certain insecticides against mango weevil, Sternochetus frigidus (F) in the hills zone of Assam.

Abstract : A field trial was carried out in Diphu, Assam, India, in 1996-97 to determine the efficacy of 4 insecticides against S. frigidus on mangoes. The insecticides tested were endosulfan, dimethoate, deltamethrin and malathion, which were applied in 5 sprays. Endosulfan (0.035 and 0.07%) and dimethoate (0.03 and 0.06%) showed some promise in controlling S. frigidus.
