Abstract : An account is given of studies carried out in the Navsari area of southern Gujurat, India, during 1971-72 on the sex ratio, length of adult life and seasonal incidence of Amritodus atkinsoni (Leth.), one of the most injurious pests of mango there. Females outnumbered males in all months of the year except February, June and November. The adult life-span was greatest (up to 3-4 days) on mango leaves and inflorescences. Adult populations increased when the mango trees were flowering, being largest during June.
