Abstract : Nine insecticides namely, quinalphos, monocrotophos, dimethoate, oxydemeton-methyl, imidacloprid, profenofos, polytrin [cypermethrin], diafenthiuron and acephate (all at 0.05% concentrations) were studied for their effectiveness against mango hoppers (Amritodus atkinsoni and Idioscopus clypealis) in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India during 1996-98. The highest pest mortality (98.44%) was obtained in polytrin-treated plants followed by imidacloprid (95.67%), whereas acephate was least effective (84.59%).
